Perdido por buscarte,
yo, sin luz para siempre.

El edén de Adán, donde encontró a Eva que era el paraíso, la divina comedia para Dante, el nirvana para los budistas, exquisito cadaver para los surrealistas, kansas para Dorothy, las lagrimas para Man Ray, el cielo o utopía para aquellos bucólicos amantes o para aquellos otros que no lo son y sueñan con ese lugar idílico.

Hoy me voy al infinito

No hay confines, términos, límites o murallas que nos roben y sustraigan la infinita cantidad de las cosas. De allí que la tierra y su mar sean fecundos; de allí que el brillo del sol sea perpetuo y suministre eternamente alimento a los voraces fuegos y líquido a los disminuidos mares, porque del infinito vuelven a nacer siempre nuevas cantidades de materia. De manera que mejor lo entendieron Demócrito y Epicuro, quienes pretenden que todo se renueva y se recompone al infinito, que quien se esfuerza por salvar la permanencia del universo eterno, para que el mismo número suceda siempre al mismo número y las mismas partes se transformen siempre en las mismas








AB/CD/CD: On Hold



The Parisian Video Collective's New Short Visualizes Factory Floor's Hypnotic Synth Loops

An endless staircase, smashing plates and slapped faces coalesce into an exploration of repetition and narrative in French filmmakers AB/CD/CD's On Hold. Inspired by Michael Haneke's 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance—in which the main character plays ping-pong against a machine that is throwing balls to him in a never ending loop—AB/CD/CD's Arnaud Boutin, Clement Dozier and Camille Dauteuille devised a series of repetitious sequences and scenarios to shoot over a couple of weekends. Set to English experimental electronic act Factory Floor's "Real Love", the resultant scenes play off the track's polyrhythms to generate a hypnotic tension. "When you listen carefully to Factory Floor, you can detect that it's live, it's not only a cold sequencer playing, it's organic," explains Clement. "They are actually playing that track as the actors are re-doing their movements." The band were taken with the way On Hold's collage of unrelated loops played with narrative, explains Factory Floor guitarist and vocalist Nik Void: "It's not far from how our music works, it gives space in the viewer's own mind to imagine and conclude what the context is about." Having made videos for the likes of Lily Allen, Uffie and Josephine de la Baume's Singtank, AB/CD/CD are currently wrapping up films for New York concept-store-turned-brand Opening Ceremony.

Miles Aldridge Brings His Cinematic Vision to Florence

“Deep down I feel I have a desire to control things,” muses Miles Aldridge about his evolution from self-taught “grunge” snapper to frequent Vogue Italia contributor and ultra-glossy conceptual artist. The photographer is candid regarding his passion for cinema, and cites movies with dramatic female roles, such as Isabella Rossellini’s Dorothy Vallens in Blue Velvet, as being particularly influential. Accordingly, in a quasi-directorial style Aldridge sketches one-frame storyboards of his ideas before entering the studio, where he produces all of his archly staged color-saturated images. A new exhibition of his drawings and photographs in Florence presents these cinematic photographs as part of a grander vision. “These pictures are all independent projects [but] because they’re all from one mind there’s a sense of them being stills from the same movie,” he says. Other influences are more personal: Aldridge is the son of legendary art director Alan Aldridge, who created seminal album covers for The Beatles and The Who among others, but it's his mother’s influence—post-divorce—that comes though heavily in his tension-filled photographs of women. “These women are more complicated than being purely beautiful in that they have this deep, dramatic life,” he says. “The family that I grew up in was filled with these kind of dramas.” Miles Aldridge runs through September 1 at Brancolini Grimaldi and Gallery Hotel Art in Florence.

que maravilla...










Las creaciones de Givenchy Alta Costura siempre me han hecho suspirar...pero realmente Rooney Mara los sabe llevar como mucha elegancia y delicadeza. Me encanta, esa forma de recogerse las manos transmite fragilidad y fuerza. Es lo que siempre he pensado que una mujer tiene que adquirir, cierta  combinación de sensibilidad y agallas.
